Review

This was a pleasant surprise. You certainly wouldn't confuse this for a contemporary console game—this came out the same year as Super Mario World and it would be a joke to compare them—but for the PC hardware of the time, this is a good action platformer. The levels are huge and full of secrets, so they're pretty fun to explore. You collect permanent upgrades to your laser blaster as you move through levels, so there's some sense of progression in each episode. For what this game is, the controls are totally fine. Duke as a character isn't as obnoxious as he would become in the 3D installments. Color me impressed.
