This is a somewhat cozy RPG. I love the look of it, and Falcom games always have amazing music. I felt the battle system is a bit too overly complex and gets in its own way a lot of the time. The battles are too long for how repetitive they are, and by the end I was fully ready to be done with them. If I ever replay this, I'm going to try to avoid as many encounters as possible. I think it'd be more satisfying with far fewer and more difficult battles.
Here's the elephant in the room: most of the character drama revolves around a budding romantic relationship between the protagonist and her brother. They're not related by blood, but they grew up together and were raised as siblings, and I think it's creepy to normalize this. The ending hints at a sequel where this relationship will further deepen, which has put me off playing any more of this series.
