Review

This game is fine. It loses a lot of the charm of the original because you have a world map that tells you exactly what to do at all times, and the secret passages all have cracks so you know you're supposed to bomb there. I get it: the part of Zelda 1 where you have to bomb every wall and burn every tree just in case there's anything there isn't great, but where's the sense of wonder and discovery? There had to have been some compromise they could've made. It's disappointing that this game canonized the formula for action adventure games for years to come.

But, I do appreciate Link's radical new hair color. I wish she'd have left it pink for at least a couple more games.
