Review

This game is a spin-off of Quest 64, the only RPG on the Nintendo 64. Believe it or not, it's a pretty decent Mr. Do! clone. It has problems: for reasons that aren't obvious, your ball doesn't always regenerate a short time after you shoot it. Unlike Mr. Do!, there's not a clear visual indicator as to whether you have your ball or not, so I'm often not sure whether I can attack. However, you can find items in treasure chests that power up your weapon and replenish you shot immediately, and the levels have way fewer "cherries" to collect, so this isn't as much of an issue as it could be otherwise. There are 20 levels, and you fight a boss every 5. Boss fights in a Mr. Do! clone is a pretty funny concept, but the game makes them work. The game loops after 20 levels, but going for a high score is still pretty fun. It's a little worse than Mr. Do! in some ways and a little better in others, so I consider it a wash.
