Review

This game kicks ass. No game outside of actual NES homebrew so faithfully captures the spirit of "Nintendo Games". This doesn't feel like just a generic "8 bit" throwback, it feels like a game for a modern iteration of the Nintendo Entertainment System. The color palette, UI, sound font, everything is famicom perfection, but it's a 16x9 game with no sprite limit and modern design sensibilities. It's obviously inspired by DuckTales, with its "pogo" mechanic, but it does so much more to forge its own identity. I liked this game so much I actually fully 100%ed it, like, got all the Steam achievements, even the ones for finishing without dying and without checkpoints. Then they released some DLC, and I no longer have 100%. This is why achievements are a scam, and Game Badges are the way of the future. This is a game that earned its badge several times over.
