Review

People have criticized this game for recycling too much content from previous games, but here's the thing: the only previous Rhythm Heaven game I could play was the first one. The sequel was a DS game that used the touchscreen instead of buttons, and the third game came out on the Wii. Other than a handful of games from Rhythm Tengoku (which all have up-res'd art and better quality music,) all the minigames were completely new to me. They buttonized all the games from Rhythm Tengoku Gold, ported games from Rhythm Heaven Fever, and added some brand new games. I also really like the narrative framing device where you're helping Tibby find his way back to Heaven World, helping new friends like Donna and Boondog, and being challenged by the Gatekeeper Trio. It's exactly the kind of goofy nonsense I come to Rhythm Heaven for, and IMO this is the best rhythm game ever made.
