Review

Sonic 2's cooler older brother. This game technically came out after Sonic 2, but it has a grittiness to it; it has an old soul. It has maybe the best soundtrack of the series, and I prefer the North American version; Spencer Nilsen's smooth new age acid jazz contrasts well with Hataya and Ogata's frantic psycho-rave tracks in the Past. Oh yeah, you can time travel in this one. The whole mechanic is kinda half-baked, but props for trying something different. The special stage is cool-looking but infuriating. I'll never get all the chaos emeralds in this one, and that's okay.
