For my thoughts on the original Sonic games, see Sonic & Knuckles, most of what I wrote there applies here as well. Sonic 2 is an improvement over Sonic 1 in most ways. It's less janky, adds the spin dash, and has more interesting levels. It's nice that you can play as Tails, but it'd be more exciting if it changed the experience in some tangible way. I feel like overall Sonic 2 doesn't have as much memorable music as the other Sonic games featured here, but overall it's a nice fun time.
